One of downtown’s special events is the Civil War Reenactment that occurs during the weekend of Fall Fest in September. Each year, thousands of people gather to watch the reenactment of a Civil War battle as well as learn how those during that time lived by walking through the tented encampment at Commons Park, the City of Angola’s largest city park. Fall Fest is an annual festival with vendors, artists, food and fun for the whole family.
Just west of Downtown Angola lies Buck Lake Ranch. The 2nd Annual Enchanted Lakes Renaissance Faire & Marketplace will be held there Father’s Day Weekend, June 15-17. Bring your family to celebrate and have fun. You’ll encounter a village full of medieval/renaissance characters. Enjoy music, entertainment, food and fun. It’s an event you won’t want to miss.
A 10 minute drive north of our Downtown Public Square is Pokagon State Park which is bordered by Lake James and Snow Lake. It offers visitors year round recreational activities on its 1700 acres of land and boasts Indiana’s only refrigerated toboggan run.
